Got this radio through an independent seller/store at Amazon, great service, but after a very short time, the adaptor ceased to work (this was discovered via my dad's electrical meter). I had to go through hell with Eton's customer service just to get a replacement, and that one was/is crappy as well, so I just gave up. Plus, the included cell phone charger was a complete dud. And, on top of it, I can crank the handle for a good five minutes and get maybe four minutes of airtime. Listen- I am not a tech type; I am primarily reviewing this radio because Eton's customer service was so bad, which really suprised me. Never again.

The main reason I got this radio was because it was a Windup Radio. One minute of winding got me about 10 minutes of Radio time. Now, the battery won't even hold five minutes of Radio time. For $50's I would have expected a whole lot more. Everything else works fine, except for the fact that you can't rely on it in an emergency unless you get someone to constantly wind it for you - but that's not very realistic.

A good scout is always prepared! You will be prepared with this handy radio. You will no longer be dependent on batteries! When you crank the dynamo for about 90 seconds you have an hours worth of electricity. You can recharge a cell phone, listen to AM or FM or even tune into the weather channel. There is a bright light and even a red flashing signal light. There is even an alarm. This is perfect for the survivalist! Great for camping, hiking, fishing or to keep around the house for those times when the power goes out. I highly recommend this product!

This little powerhouse has everything you need in an emergency. I keep it handy by my bedside and have used it a dozen times in power outages. Worth the money.

paid too much but thought it would be good to have in hurricane area. havent taken it out of box, and hopefully wont have tio either!
